Growing your own flowers from seed

It doesn’t matter whether you have a large garden with lots of space to fill, or just enough room for a few pots, it’s easy and very cheap to grow flowers from seed. If you don’t have a greenhouse there are lots of hardy annuals that can be direct sown in the border where you want them to flower.

Most annuals prefer a sunny position. Just rake the soil finely and sow your flower seed from March onwards and water in gently.
